Message clean washer fluid then you will have less maintenance or cleaning. 10 or 12 gallons is not enough to start seeing build up any more than 10 or 12 gallons of gasoline on a fuel filter. I am not going to trust my engine on the type of water and filtering the manufcaturer of washerfluid decides to use . Have you ever had clogged windsheild washer nozzles? Yes, pressure helps keep it clean to a point.
On my turbo VW I had in high school. I cleaned my inline filter screen and tested my nozzle every 4 to 6 months usually when changing oil to makes sure it was flowing the correct spray pattern. I used more than 10 or 12 gallons water in that time. To neglect that maintenance is to invite blowing my motor.
